Randy Euken

In the early 70s, Northwest gained the commitment of a player from Cumberland, Iowa who would go on to be one of the most dominate offensive lineman in school history. As a four-year starter on the Bearcat offensive line from 1971-74, Randy Euken may not have been able to put up a lot of impressive individual stats but his selflessness on the field allowed other Bearcats to make plays. This includes paving the way for Hall-of-Famer Jim Albin to rush for 3,000 yards during his career.

However, Euken didn’t go unnoticed on the field. Three times he was named All-MIAA First-Team offensive lineman and helped lead Coach Gladden Dye’s teams to MIAA Championships in both 1972 and 1974. No doubt one of the toughest and hardest working offensive linemen in Northwest history, he endured several injures, but was still able to compete at the highest level.

Today, Randy continues to farm on his ranch in Iowa.
