The overall marketing and promotions philosophy of the Athletic Marketing office is to increase attendance and support for all athletic events by providing an entertaining collegiate atmosphere, while generating revenue opportunities and ticket sales.

Sponsorship Opportunities

A stream that continues to flow for the Northwest Missouri State University Athletic Department is from the revenues generated by the Athletic Marketing office. Those funds, coupled with an increase in private donations and licensing royalties, have helped the self-supporting Athletic Department excel.

The Athletic Marketing office has created many long lasting, well-respected relationships with sponsors. As a corporate sponsor, your affiliation provides a multitude of opportunities to develop brand awareness, build brand loyalty and enhance your company's exposure to targeted demographic groups. Specifically, we offer direct access to alumni, students, donors and fans, as well as our network of other partners.

Our sponsorship program has enabled corporations and businesses to support the Bearcats while receiving valuable advertising exposure at Northwest athletic events. This popular program, which involves all sports, has become a revenue fountain for the department.

Sponsorship packages can include but are not limited to:
  • game day sponsorship
  • a combination of tickets
  • event signage
  • company logos on program covers
  • public address announcements
  • special events sponsorship

All sponsorship packages are tailored to meet the marketing needs of each individual partner to maximize their goals and objectives. The Athletic Marketing office stresses flexibility when designing a comprehensive partnership package. The values of each key element within a partnership package are consistent with the values offered to all other prospective or current partners.

Payment plans can be customized as a convenience to the partner. Businesses utilize these packages to entertain clients, reward their employees and take advantage of the exposure.

Internship Program

Several Northwest students serve as interns in the Athletic Marketing office. Together, they work to create and implement promotional plans for all Northwest athletic events. Duties also include: participating in special events planning for multiple activities within the Bearcat Athletic Department. This unpaid internship is an August-May commitment and begins in the fall at the start of the academic year.

Students must be energetic, responsible, organized and motivated to assist the Northwest Athletic Marketing office in carrying out the marketing plans for one of the top intercollegiate athletic programs in the country. Course credit is available if approved by one's college.

These students are a very important part of the marketing office's workforce and make a great impact during their terms. The experience gained has proven to be valuable as many have gone on to work in athletics, including positions with multiple professional organizaitons, as well as other NCAA member institutions.
