The 1995 Northwest Missouri State men’s tennis team raised the bar for an already highly decorated tennis program. In a season packed with highlights, the Bearcats captured one of their most impressive wins on March 4 knocking off NCAA Division I Oral Roberts. The Bearcat men raced out to 15-2 mark that saw an 11-match winning streak and an amazing streak of seven straight shutout wins en route to their 11th MIAA Championship in school history.  That would be the beginning of three straight conference titles for Northwest in the sport of men’s tennis.

This team went on to claim the program’s first ever Regional Championship with wins over MIAA rivals Washburn and Southwest Baptist. At the national tournament the Bearcats fell in the Round of 16 to Georgia College and State ending a 21-4 season that still stands as the best season in Northwest men’s tennis history.
