AMES, Iowa - Jhordan Ccope and Karim Achengli competed in the Iowa State Classic and both posted provisional qualifying marks for the National Championship meet against top tier competition. Both were the highest Division-II finishers in their respectable races. Ccope ran the 3,000m run in 8:20.47, finishing 13th behind runners from Kentucky, Iowa, and Purdue, among other Division-I schools. Achengli finished 11th in the 5,000m run with a time of 14:14.96, between two Big Ten runners from Minnesota and Michigan. 

The rest of the Bearcat track and field team is at the Gorilla Classic, events continue tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Pittsburg, Kansas.
