Northwest Missouri State's
Marcus Klein put on quite a show in the long jump at the SBU Bearcat Invitational on Saturday in Bolivar, Missouri.
Klein automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in the long jump with a series of jumps measuring - 7.61m, 7.61m, 7.75m and 7.75m. The 7.75 meter jump converts to 25' 5.25", which bests the previous school mark set by Matt Abele in 2001 (25'1.5"). Klein's jump ranks No. 1 in the nation in the long jump among NCAA Division II competitors.
Jordan Hammond also performed at a high level with a time of 1:00.57 in the 400-meter hurdles, which ranks as the eighth-best Division II time this season. The women were started off by
Haley Craig throwing a provisionally qualifying discus throw of 146'9" and winning the event. Craig also threw a provisionally qualifying toss of 45'3" in shot put.
Katie Bush and Keely Danielson took first and second in the 5,000m dash.Â
Josh Warner placed third in the discus with a toss of 147'4". Warner also placed third in the hammer throw.Â

Peyton Mizera,
Ta'Marche Mason, and
Omar Austin placed second in the 4x100m dash.
Emmai Brown placed fourth in the 100m hurdles.
Omar Austin placed first and
Caelon Harkey placed third in the 400m dash. Austin's time of :47.49 is the 12th-best time in the nation this spring and is a provisional qualifying mark. Mike Lagat placed second and
Max Martin placed third in the 5,000m run.
