ResultsStory Highlights- The Northwest Missouri State cross country teams competed in the Planet Sub Invitational on Friday.
- The men finished first out of 15 schools, while the women placed second out of 14 schools.
- The meet was hosted by Emporia State University and held at Jones Park in Emporia, Kan.
- Top finishers for the Bearcats were
Anne Herbert (second) and
Wick Cunningham (third).
Men's Race Highlights (Northwest wins with 67 points)- Cunningham (26:26.7) finished third in the men's eight-kilometer race. He was the top finisher who was racing attached to a school.

Ryan Cox (27:28.6) and
Johnny Harley (27:31) finished 14th and 15th, respectively.

Joe Anger (27:57.3) finished 23rd, while
Brandon Phipps (28:18.8) rounded out the Bearcats' top five in 26th.
- A total of 133 runners took to the course in the men's race.
Women's Race Highlights (Northwest finished second with 54 points)- Herbert finished second with a time of 19:18.4.
- All five scoring runners finished in the top 17 for the Bearcats.

Samantha Laurenzo (20:01.9) finished 11th, while
Maci Hicks (20:07.9) finished 13th.
- Right behind Hicks was
Jessica Johnson (14th) who finished in 20:10.4.
Brooklyn Ellis completed the course in 20:20.9, good for 17th place.

Katie Bush (20:36.5),
Chloe Haffarnan (20:54.5) and
Hana Speaks (21:08.5) finished in the top 20% of all finishers.
- 134 women took part in the five-kilometer race.
- Fort Hays State won the race with 31 points. All five of their runners finished in the top 10.
Up Next- Northwest will head to Fayetteville, Ark. next Saturday (Oct. 4) to compete in the Arkansas Chili Pepper Invitational.
