Cross country competes in MIAA Championships

Story Highlights
- The Northwest Missouri State cross country teams competed in the MIAA Championship on Saturday.
- The meet was hosted by Southwest Baptist University and held at the Municipal golf course in Bolivar, Mo.
- Both the men's and the women's team finished fifth in their respective races.

Men's Race Highlights (Northwest finished fifth with 127 points)
- Wick Cunningham (25:15.16) finished sixth and Ryan Cox (17th) ran the course in 25:43.71.
- Tim Grundmayer (31st) finished in 26:18.02, followed closely by Kit Anderson, who finished 34th in 26:27.97.
- Joe Anger traversed the eight-kilometer course in 26:39.34, good for 40th place.
- A total of 78 runners took to the course in the men's race.
- Missouri Southern won the race with 22 points.

Women's Race Highlights (Northwest finished fifth with 154 points)
- Herbert earned her fifth place finish with a time of 22:15.
- Samantha Laurenzo (23:53.16) finished 33rd and Brooklyn Ellis (23:59.45) finished 37th.
- Katie Bush completed the course in 24:01.41, good for 40th, while Jessica Johnson finished 43rd with a time of 24:11.5.
- 90 women took part in the six-kilometer race.
- Missouri Southern won the race with 44 points.

- The Bearcats will head to Wayne, Neb. to compete in the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22.
