Northwest Missouri State University head men's basketball coach
Matt Keeley has announced the addition of 10 signees for the program's 2025-26 recruiting class.
The list of 10 newcomers features seven transfers and three freshmen.
The Bearcats will return four players from the 2024-25 season in juniors
Trey Moala and
Jack Ratigan along with a pair of redshirt freshmen
Presley Ibeh and
Larenz Walters.
Mikhail Abdul-Hamid G 6-5 190 Jr. St. Louis, Mo. / Christian Brothers HS / Hutchinson CC
Abdul-Hamid is a junior college transfer from Hutchinson Community College. Abdul-Hamid averaged 7.4 points per game and shot 40.3% from three-point land last season. He has had college stops at the University of Idaho and Salt Lake City CC before last year at Hutchinson. He is a native of St. Louis, Mo., and graduated from Christian Brothers High School, where helped his team capture the 2022 Missouri Class 6A state championship. He played for head coach Justin Tatum, father of Boston Celtic Jason Tatum. He is the son of Marsha Cannon and Stephen Abdul-Hamid. His father played college basketball at Wichita State and New Mexico State. His brother, Mustafa, played at UCLA from 2006-2010.
Aiden Gair G 6-4 200 Sr. Williamsport, Pa. / Loyalsock HS / Millersville
Gair is a senior transfer from Millersville (Pa.) University. Gair buried 95 three-pointers and averaged 14.4 points per game as a junior for the Marauders. Gair averaged 3.1 three-pointers made per game in 2024-25. He made at least one three-pointer in 30 of 31 games. Gair poured in a season-high 30 points at Jefferson on Nov. 16, 2024. Gair was a member of the Montana State University men's basketball team in 2023-24 but did not play because of injuries. He led Missouri State-West Plains in scoring at 15.4 points per game in 2022-23. He played two seasons at Frank Phillips College from 2020-22. Gair was an all-state performer in football and basketball at Loyalsock High School. He was his high school conference's player of the year in both football and basketball. He scored 1,200 points and averaged 24.6 points per game as a prep player. He is the son of James and Denay Gair.
Robby Garcia F 6-7 210 Fr. Papillion, Neb. / Bellevue West HS
Garcia is a freshman forward from Bellevue West (Neb.) High School. Garcia collected first-team all-state honors. He was a two-time first-team all-metro selection. He posted more than 1,000 points and set the school record for career rebounds. He once tallied 24 rebounds in a single game. He helped his prep squad to a pair of metro titles.
Gob Gob G 6-3 169 Sr. Manchester, N.H. / Manchester West HS / UMKC
Gob is a senior transfer from UMKC. Gob saw action in 19 games for the Roos and he averaged 3.0 points and 0.8 assists. Gob scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed four rebounds at Oral Roberts on Feb. 1, 2025. Gob began his collegiate career at Hill College where he was a first-team all-NTJCAC selection. Gob scored 12.5 points in 2023-24 after averaging 11.3 points per game in 2022-23. Gob played prep hoops for Manchester West (N.H.) High School and Minnesota Prep. He is the son of Emmanuel Gob and Angier Ajak.
Matthew Mayes G 6-6 190 Sr. Inglewood, Calif. / Westchester HS / Henderson State
Mayes is a senior transfer from Henderson State. Mayes averaged 11.3 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Reddies in 2024-25. He scored a season-high 22 points at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Feb. 6, 2025. Mayes ranked No. 17 in the nation with 70 steals in 2024-25. Mayes was on the roster at Cal St.-Dominguez in 2023-24 but did not see action. He played the 2022-23 season at Western Washington University, where he appeared in 23 games and averaged 3.4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Mayes scored a season-high 15 points vs. Alaska-Anchorage on Feb. 11, 2023. Mayes began his collegiate career at West LA College where he was named the conference's co-defensive player of the year as his squad went 28-4 and reached the California State semifinals. Mayes played his prep career at Westchester High School in Inglewood, Calif.
Osahon "Osa" Obasohan G 6-4 220 Jr. Antwerp, Belgium / Brandon Hall School / Hawaii
Obasohan is a junior transfer from the University of Hawaii. Obasohan saw action 10 games a reserve for Hawaii in 2024-25. He earned a spot on the Big West Conference's Commissioner's Honor Roll. He played the 2023-24 season as an amateur for Espoirs Le Mans in the LNB Espoirs – a French under-21 league. He averaged 14.5 points, 3.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds in France. He was a 4.0 student at Brandon Hall School in Atlanta, Ga., to complete his prep career. He played for Elite Academy Antwerp for five years prior to moving to the United States. He trained with both the Belgian U20 and senior national teams. He is the son of Victor and Susan Obasohan. His older brother, Retin, was an all-conference player at Alabama and competed for the Sacramento Kings NBA Summer League team before landing a pro career in Europe.
Cole Odefey G 6-5 200 Fr. Bettendorf, Iowa / Bettendorf HS
Odefey is a freshman guard from Bettendorf (Iowa) High School. Odefey notched second-team all-state honors. He was a first-team all-conference pick. He helped lead Bettendorf HS to the state semifinals.
Booker Scheierman F 6-9 190 Fr. Aurora, Neb. / Aurora HS
Scheierman is a freshman forward from Aurora (Neb.) High School. Scheierman gained first-team all-state honors as a senior. He was a first-team all-conference pick. He helped his prep squad to a conference championship. Scheierman broke the school record for blocks and rebounds in a single season.
Ethan Villanueva G 6-3 180 R-Fr. Bradenton, Fla. / IMG Academy / Jacksonville
Villanueva is a redshirt freshman transfer from the University of Jacksonville. Villaneuva did not play last season for the Dolphins. He finished his prep career at IMG Academy.
Royce Williams G 6-1 185 Sr. Manchester, N.H. / Trinity HS / Southern New Hampshire
Williams is a senior transfer guard from Southern New Hampshire University. Williams averaged 9.3 points per game and shot 46.6% from the field for the Penmen in 2024-25. The Penmen reached the NCAA Div. II Tournament in 2024-25 and earned the No. 3 seed in the East Regional. Williams scored 17 points and drained four three-pointers in his only NCAA Tournament game vs. Assumption. He was a 2020 graduate of Trinity High School. Williams averaged 23 points per game as a junior and 22 points per contest as a senior. He was chosen as the player of the year as a senior as he led Trinity to the state semifinals and became a 1,000-point scorer. He played post-grad basketball at Springfield Commonwealth for the Tornadoes. He is the son of Jason and Daniella.
