Bearcats set for third straight Kansas Meet at Midwest Classic

For the third consecutive weekend, the Northwest Missouri State outdoor track and field squads will return to the state of Kansas to take on the Midwest Classic on Friday, April 4 at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan. 
 
Field events will begin at 11 a.m., as running events are set to start at 11:30 a.m.

PREVIOUSLY ON THE TRACK
The Bearcats claimed three event titles during last Saturday's competition at the ESU Relays.

Lydia McGlocklin shattered a long-standing meet record in the 800-meter run, surpassing a mark that had stood since 2006, while Luisarys Toledo broke her own school record in the Javelin.
 
Bearcat men rank No. 7 in USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award Standings
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its mid-year Program of the Year Award update, ranking the Northwest Missouri State men's cross country and indoor track and field teams at No. 7.

The Bearcats have accumulated 15 POY points, placing 10th in cross country and 5th in indoor track and field. Northwest is one of only three MIAA programs ranked among the top 16 in Division II, joining Pittsburg State and Washburn.
