Bearcats bring home trio of event titles from ESU Relays

EMPORIA, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State outdoor track and field teams claimed three event titles during Saturday's competition at the ESU Relays.

Lydia McGlocklin shattered a long-standing meet record in the 800-meter run, surpassing a mark that had stood since 2006, while Luisarys Toledo broke her own school record in the Javelin.

FIELD EVENTS
  • (W) Discus: Alli Poage registered a mark of 35.91 meters (117-09) on her first attempt, securing 17th place in the event.
  • (M) High Jump: Jeremiah Rainey-Dunlap opened his outdoor season with a 9th-place finish, clearing 1.96 meters (6-05.00).
  • (W) Javelin: Luisarys Toledo launched a throw of 49.19 meters (161-04) on her first attempt, earning an NCAA Division II provisional mark—the second-best throw in the nation. Toledo's performance shattered her previous school record by eight feet.
  • (W) Long Jump: Campbell Barta continued her standout freshman campaign with a 3rd-place finish. Her first attempt of 5.69 meters (18-08) ranks 14th in Division II. Grace Hill secured 10th with a best jump of 5.15 meters (16-10.75).
  • (M) Long Jump: Frank Sparks claimed 8th place with a best leap of 7.15 meters (23-05.50).
  • (M) Triple Jump: David Parker II secured 5th place with a jump of 14.60 meters (47-10.75).
 
RUNNING EVENTS
  • (W) 200m: Competing on Friday, Chloe Saenz clocked 24.70 to finish 13th out of 80 runners. She placed fourth in Heat 2 of 12 total heats, ranking inside the top 40 in NCAA Division II this season.
  • (M) 200m: Xavier Horn and Quinn Gruver represented the Bearcats among 100 sprinters. Horn finished 35th with a time of 22.06, while Gruver ran 22.14 to take 40th. Both competed in the final heat, with Gruver finishing second and Horn close behind.
  • (W) 100m: Campbell Barta posted the 12th-fastest time in the nation at 11.70, placing 8th overall. Her NCAA Division II provisional mark ranks as the fourth-fastest time in program history. Jaurdin Mallory (11.95) and Chloe Saenz (11.97) finished 14th and 15th, while Hallie Henfling (12.23) and Krysta Abel (12.33) took 23rd and 25th. Anjelena Carder placed 27th (12.41), and Emma Lundy finished 47th (13.52).
  • (W) 100m Hurdles: Grace Hill placed 10th with a time of 14.79, while Millie Wempen finished 26th in 17.40.
  • (M) 110m Hurdles: Vashon Riggins was the lone Bearcat in the event, placing 21st with a time of 17.01.
  • (M) 400m: Christian Lanphier led Northwest's duo with a 14th-place finish (49.39), while Zach Pittman placed 26th (50.77).
  • (W) 800m: Lydia McGlocklin dominated the field, finishing seven seconds ahead of second place with a meet-record time of 2:11.83. Her time ranks 13th in the nation and seventh in school history, breaking the previous meet record set in 2006.
  • (M) 3000m Steeplechase: Barnabe Gabillet secured Northwest's second event title of the day, finishing in 9:20.62, while Grayson Tapp took 2nd at 9:33.20. Both rank inside the nation's top 25, with Gabillet at 11th and Tapp at 25th.
  • (W) 3000m Steeplechase: Mayson Hartley claimed runner-up honors, finishing just behind the winner with a time of 11:38.33.
  • (M) 5000m: John Langill clocked 15:23.13 to take 4th place, while Austin Goetsche finished 13th in 16:17.08.
  • (W) 5000m: All three Bearcats finished inside the top 10. Amanda Seggerman led the group in 5th (19:01.42), with Shelby Harris (8th, 19:21.55) and Jessa Cassity (10th, 19:31.67) close behind.
