The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team is ranked No. 13 in the preseason American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.

This marks the third time in school history the Bearcats have been ranked in the preseason AVCA Top 25 Poll. Northwest was ranked No. 17 in 2021 and No. 12 in 2022.

The Bearcats finished the 2022 season ranked No. 13 following a year that saw them reach the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive time. In 2022, Northwest captured the program's first MIAA regular season crown with a 17-3 mark in league play.

Northwest will open the 2023 season at the Rockhurst/William Jewell Tournament in Kansas City. Northwest will take on Kentucky Wesleyan at Rockhurst on Sept. 1 at 10 a.m., followed a matchup with Rockhurst later that night at 6 p.m. The Bearcats will head over to Liberty, Mo., on Sat., Sept. 2, to take on Sioux Falls (10 a.m.) and William Jewell (2 p.m.). Northwest's first home match of the season will be Sept. 15 against Missouri Southern as both squads open up MIAA play.

Northwest has been ranked 49 times in its program history.
