The Northwest Missouri State University women's and men's tennis programs have been honored for their academic efforts by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Both the women's and men's teams gained the ITA's All-Academic Team Award for their performance in the classroom in both the fall and spring semesters. The women posted a 3.44 team GPA, while the men had a 3.26 team GPA.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
Northwest had eight individuals secure the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor. Five women in
Vera Alenicheva,
Tessa Kwakernaak,
Carolina Lima De Oliveira,
Angela per Moreno and
Sofia Pignataro captured the ITA Scholar-Athlete award. Three men in
Simon Birgerson,
Fabien Calloud and
Vinnie Rodrigues captured the ITA Scholar-Athlete award.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
