The Northwest Missouri State soccer team recorded its first loss this season against the nationally ranked Central Missouri Jennies with a final score of 1-0.
The Bearcats battled for over 80 minutes of play before the Jennies were able to find the back of the net. The goal came off a free kick just outside of the penalty box at the 82:48 mark.
Northwest was strong on the attacking side drawing 9 corner kicks and allowing Central Missouri just 1.
Sophie Cissell and
Kaylie Rock each had a team high two shots. The Bearcats recorded 10 shots as a team, 6 of which were on goal.
Northwest is on the road next week as they travel to Joplin, MO, to face Missouri Southern Friday, September 16. Then the Bearcats will face Central Missouri again Sunday, September 18, in Warrensburg, MO.
