Trevor Hudgins became Northwest Missouri State's all-time leading scorer as he helped guide the No. 5-ranked Bearcats to a 40-point home win over the University of Central Missouri Mules.
Hudgins needed 18 points going into the contest and delivered 19 to surpass Justin Pitts's mark of 2,459 points. Hudgins surpassed Pitts with a three-pointer with 6:50 remaining in the second half.
Northwest moved its record to 19-2 overall and 12-1 in the MIAA. Central Missouri fell to 9-9 overall and 6-8 in MIAA play.
Wes Dreamer led all scorers with 23 points.
Northwest shot 61.5% from the field and 57.1% from three-point land. The Bearcats drained 20-of-35 three-point shots in the victory.
The squads were separated by a point at 18-17 when Northwest hit UCM with an 11-0 spurt to open up a 29-17 lead. Northwest would lock down defensively and limit UCM to one made field in the final seven minutes. Northwest closed the half on a 21-4 run to take a 39-21 advantage at intermission.

Wes Dreamer carried the offensive load in the first 20 minutes as he tallied 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Dreamer knocked in 4-of-6 from three-point land.
Northwest continued its offensive assault in the second half by hitting 17-of-25 shots (68.0%), including 14-of-20 from three-point range (70.0%). Northwest out-scored the Mules in the final 20 minutes, 50-28.Â
Hudgins tallied 16 of his 19 points in the second half. Hudgins went 5-of-6 from the field, all three-pointers, in the second half.
Luke Moustakas came off the bench to replace Hudgins with 6:34 left in the game and proceeded to fire away. Moustakas knocked in 5-of-6 shots altogether including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Moustakas tallied a career-high with 14 points.
Diego Bernard put on an all-around show with eight assists, six rebounds, two steals and three points.
