Played in 29 games and made one start in helping Northwest to its third NCAA Division II national championship ... posted a career-high 21 points as he went 6-for-6 from the field and was 9-of-11 at the free throw line in Northwest's 91-86 overtime win over Northern State in the Central Region title game (3/16) ... earned Most Outstanding Player honors in the Central Region ... named to the Central Region all-tournament team ... secured a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 98-77 Elite Eight victory vs. West Liberty (3/24) ... recorded five double-figure scoring games ... shot a phenomenal 77.3% from the field (58-of-75) as a true freshman ... averaged 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game ... set the MIAA record with a stretch of 19 consecutive field goals made from Feb. 25 through March 16 ... scored 13 points vs. Central Oklahoma (1/23) ... tallied 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting in a win over Central Missouri (12/3) ... was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field for 10 points in a 92-71 win over Emporia State (1/9) ... made his first career start at Nebraska-Kearney (1/16) ... his layup with :29 left in OT helped Northwest to an 88-85 win at Washburn (2/20) ... dished out a career-high four assists in MIAA Tournament win over Central Oklahoma (3/5).

PRIOR TO NORTHWEST
Alexander, a 6'4" shooting guard, joined the Bearcats after completing his senior season with Chris Neff and the Staley Falcons. As a junior, Alexander averaged 17.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.8 steals. In the summer, Alexander competed with the MoKan Select AAU Program out of Kansas City. 
 
"Byron is a fantastic athlete and will have a chance to be an elite defender in our league. Coach Neff's players always have great energy and Byron is no different," McCollum said. "Offensively, he is very good off the bounce and is a great finisher around the rim."
