Bearcat men draw Barry University in NCAA national quarterfinals

The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team will take on Barry University in the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Tournament national quarterfinals.

The Bearcats (16-4 overall) and Buccaneers (10-0 overall) will square off Tuesday, May 18, at 4 p.m. (CT) in Surprise, Arizona. The Bearcats were awarded the No. 7 overall seed, while the Buccaneers drew the No. 2 national seed.

Barry is ranked No. 2 in the latest ITA national poll. Northwest is ranked No. 21 in the ITA poll.

The No. 1 singles match between Barry and Northwest will feature No. 1-ranked Alessandro Giuliato against No. 3-ranked Andrea Zamurri. Giuliato is 9-1, while Zamurri is 18-1 overall this spring.

Barry's top doubles team of Tim Buttner and Ignasi Forcano is ranked No. 6 in the latest ITA doubles ranking.

The Bearcats-Buccaneers winner will take on the winner of No. 3 Indianapolis vs. No. 6 Bluefield State dual. The national semifinal will take place May 19 at 4 p.m. (CT). The national championship dual match is slated for May 20 at 4 p.m. (CT).
