Box Score 2 HAYS, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State baseball team split a Saturday doubleheader with Fort Hays State in MIAA action on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats dropped the first game, 7-6, but rebounded to take game two, 7-5. Northwest is now 14-9 on the season and 10-6 in MIAA play.
GAME ONE The Bearcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before FHSU rallied to score five runs in the last two innings to capture the victory.
Paul Johnson went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Austin Wulff,
Steven Garber and
Zack Ferreira each collected hits for Northwest.
Huske led off the game with a single and scored on a double by Johnson. Johnson would score on a Wulff single. In the fourth, Garber doubled with one out and scored on a
Jon Pomatto sacrifice fly.
Ryan Abernathy started the sixth by reaching on an error and scored two batters later on a throwing error. Garber, who walked with two outs, scored on the same error. During the next at bat, Pomatto, who reached on a fielders choice, scored on a wild pitch, giving Northwest a 6-2 lead.
Austin Warren started and went 3.2 innings, allowing just one earned run with four strikeouts. Pomatto took the loss after pitching the bottom of the seventh.
GAME TWONorthwest scored five runs in the fourth and added two in the fifth to take the second game from the Tigers.
Brandon Huske went 3-for-4 with a homerun and four RBI. Abernathy was 2-for-4 with a home run and a pair of RBI.
Zack Ferreira, Pomatto and Johnson each had two hits for the Bearcats.
Huske drove in the first Northwest runs in the fourth as he singled to score Ferreira and Pomatto.
Paul Johnson tripled in Huske in the next at bat and Abernathy cleared the bases with a two-run homer to left field. With two out in the fifth, Huske homered to right field, driving in Pomatto who singled to start the inning. The Bearcats collected 12 hits on the afternoon.
Hondo Pearcy went 5.1 innings on the mound, striking out three while allowing just four runs to pick up his third win of the season.
Daulton Perry pitched the final two outs for the save.
