Northwest wraps up exhibition play with 5-0 shutout of William Jewell

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team wrapped up exhibition play Saturday with a 5-0 shutout triumph over the William Jewell Cardinals.

The Bearcat controlled the action and put up 38 shots with 27 on goal. William Jewell was limited to two shots with one on goal.

Northwest's goal scorers on Saturday included Rachel Davis, Ximena Arnau, Julia Coacher, Nyah Aware and Izzie Miller. The Bearcats gained assists from Jenna Lloyd, Davis, Norah Oyler and Coacher. 

Northwest's tandem of goalkeepers pitched a shutout. Taryn Lewis played 61 minutes and made one save. Leyah Scott played the final 29 minutes and kept the Cardinals off the scoreboard. 

Northwest's regular season opener is set for Friday, Aug. 28, at Northern State at 12 p.m.
