SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The No. 17-ranked Washburn Ichabods slipped past the No. 41-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team in the semifinals of the 2026 MIAA Tournament held at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
Washburn moved to 18-3 overall, while Northwest dropped to 17-5 overall.
The Ichabods were able to secure the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Northwest's No.1. doubles pairing of
Polina Agapitova and
Michelle Kostadinova picked up a 6-1 win over Washburn's No. 40-ranked duo of Jasel Bailey and Saajida.
Northwest tallied singles victories from
Polina Gontaryk at No. 5 singles and from Agapitova at No. 6 singles but could not overcome the Ichabods's four other singles triumphs.
