ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Playing at the historic Dwight Davis Tennis Center, the Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team notched its eighth consecutive victory with a 4-2 triumph over the UMSL Tritons.
 
The Bearcats (9-1 overall) had to overcome dropping the doubles' point to the Tritons (2-6 overall). Northwest proved up to the task by scoring five singles' wins.
 
Majra Djokic (No. 2 singles), Laura Prieto Sieiro (No. 4 singles) and Polina Gontaryk (No. 5 singles) were victorious in straight sets.
 
Chiharu Ito went the distance at No. 3 singles with a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) win.
