ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team snared five singles wins to propel the Bearcats to a 5-2 dual win over the Henderson State University Reddies.
The Bearcats moved to 4-1, while the Reddies slipped to 3-3.
Henderson State gained the upper-hand in doubles by scoring wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Northwest's No. 3 doubles' pairing of
Polina Gontaryk and
Majra Djokic tallied a 6-2 win over HSU's Kristina Kozlova and Angela Dorado Marin.
The Bearcats took over the dual in singles' action by winning five of the six matches.
Djokic went 2-0 on the day with a 7-6, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles over HSU's Marin.
Gontaryk also had a two-win day by capturing a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles over HSU's Jordan Parker.
Chiharu Ito (No. 3 singles),
Laura Prieto Sieiro (No. 4 singles) and
Polina Agapitova (No. 6 singles) tallied straight-set victories to power the Bearcats to the dual win.
Northwest will continue on its spring break trip with a dual Monday against Harding in Searcy, Ark.
