BRANSON, Mo. - The Maryville Saints snapped Northwest Missouri State's five-game win streak with an extra-inning 3-2 triumph at the D2 Battle and Juco Jam.
The Bearcats led 2-0 with two runs in the first, but the Saints rallied with single runs in the fourth and fifth to tie it. The Saints took advantage of the international tiebreaker and scored the game-winning run with one out in the eighth on a bloop single over shortstop

Northwest Missouri State began the game with a strong offensive push in the first inning.
Alexis Brown singled to left center and later scored on a triple by
Omara Love. Love then crossed the plate on a single by
Jaeleigh Darnell, giving the Bearcats an early 2-0 lead. After the first inning, the score stood at 2-0 in favor of the Bearcats.
Maryville responded in the fourth inning when A. Koth hit a solo home run to right field, reducing the Bearcats' lead to one. By the end of the fourth inning, the score was Bearcats 2, Saints 1.
In the fifth inning, the Saints managed to tie the game. After a walk to P. Deakin, J. Kosnoff hit a double to right-center, bringing Deakin home. This tied the score at 2-2 after five innings.
The game remained tied until extra innings. In the bottom of the eighth, the Saints capitalized on a situation with a runner on second. A single by A. Wolf drove in the winning run, securing a 3-2 victory for Maryville.
Love contributed with a triple and two stolen bases, finishing with two hits and an RBI. Darnell recorded an RBI and a hit while also drawing a walk. Brown scored a run and added a stolen base to the team's efforts.
Northwest is 8-5 on the season.
