BRANSON, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University softball team used a complete game from starter
Rien Moore and the first career home runs from
Kaylee Cords and
Mackenzie Mlnarik to tally a 7-1 win over Truman State at the D2 Battle and Juco Jam.
Moore moved to 2-0 on the season as she registered her first career complete game. Cords blasted a three-run homer in the first with one out to give the Bearcats an early edge. Mlnarik connected on a two-run shot in the fourth to boost the Bearcat advantage to 7-0. Mlnarik scored a team-high three runs and registered a stolen base.
Truman State scored its lone run of the game with two outs in the fifth on an RBI-double from Jayda Long.
Northwest is 6-4 on the season. Truman State is 2-5 overall.
