Bearcat men and women both take fifth at Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State cross country teams continued their seasons at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational at Mahoney Park Golf Course. 
 
The Bearcat men tallied 182 points to claim fifth overall, with the Northwest women totaling 132, placing fifth overall. Both teams finished second in the gold category with the Bearcat men scoring 85 points and the Bearcat women totaling 60 points.
 
Bearcat Men's 8K
In the men's 8K run, Northwest's top three finishers set personal bests with Sophomore John Langill clocking in a time of 25:07.78, leading the team with a 19th place finish, senior Maxime Touron clocking in a time of 25:08.08, placing 20th, and senior Barnabe Gabillet clocking in a time of 25:51.19, placing 52nd.

The Bearcat men's team had four runners finish in the top 25 of the gold category. Sophomore John Langill (25:07.78), senior Maxime Touron (25:08.08), senior Barnabe Gabillet (25:51.19), and senior Austin Goetsche (25:52.62), finished 3rd, 4th, 23rd, and 24th respectively.

Bearcat Women's 5K
In the women's 5K Northwest secured fifth place with three runners finishing in the top 25 with all three setting new personal bests. Sophomore Olivia Bakker led the team with a 10th place finish, clocking in a time of 18:07.99. Senior Lou Maquaire (18:14.93) and junior Mayson Hartley (18:26.88) finished 14th and 21st respectively.

Continuing its fall season, Northwest will next travel to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the Arkansas Chili Pepper Festival and to St. Joseph, Mo to compete in the Griffon Invite on Oct. 4.
