The Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team won its third consecutive dual match with a 4-3 triumph over the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Friday afternoon on the Grube Courts at the Rosewell Tennis Complex.
The Bearcats moved to 6-5 overall and 3-0 in GAC/MIAA dual action. The Lions fell to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in league dual play.
UAFS won the doubles point by scoring victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Northwest's No. 3 doubles duo of
Dominik Wijntjes and
Antonin Leborne posted a 6-4 victory.
No. 29-ranked Wijntjes led the singles effort with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 over Juan Rosello.
No. 70-ranked Leborne gained a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles over UAFS's Rodrigo Hoppe.
Vini Rodrigues came through with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over UAFS's Killian Darneaux at No. 5 singles.Â
Nicollo Chiriatti secured a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles over Kevin Praphan.
Northwest will be in action on the road Saturday when they take on the Southwest Baptist Bearcats in Bolivar, Mo. beginning at 2 p.m.
