BEARCATS TAKE 4-GAME WIN STREAK TO WISCONSIN DELLS
The Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team will take its four-game win streak North for the weekend to the Wisconsin Dells.
    Northwest (4-1) will match up against Northern State (0-2) and Northern Michigan (1-1). Northwest and NSU will meet Saturday at 2 p.m. and then the Bearcats will take on NMU Sunday at 2 p.m.

ALL-TIME VS. NORTHERN STATE
Northwest holds a 7-1 lead in the all-time series with Northern State.
    The Bearcats and Wolves have met five times on neutral courts previously with Northwest going 5-0 in all five games in St. Joseph, Mo.

Sunday will mark the first encounter on the hard wood between Northwest and Northern Michigan. NMU is an NCAA Div. II member of the GLIAC.

FOUR STRAIGHT WINS
Northwest has won four consecutive games for the first time since the 2023-24 season. Northwest and Washburn are tied for the longest active win streak in the MIAA.

ROYCE ROLLS UP NUMBERS
Senior guard Royce Williams is averaging 13.0 points per game. He he also averaging 5.0 rebounds and leads the team in steals (11).
    Williams is 14-of-15 at the free throw line and has made 12 consecutive free throws entering this week's game at the Wisconsin Dells.
    Williams ranks No. 6 in the nation in total steals (11).

GAIR ADDS SCORING FLAIR
Senior Aiden Gair leads the squad in scoring (14.2 ppg), assists (22) and three-pointers made (13).
    Gair has sank 108 three pointers in his NCAA collegiate career with 95 made triples at Millersville.
    Gair ranks No. 7 in the nation with 22 assists through the first five games this season.
    He also ranks No. 7 in the country in three-pointers made (13).

MAYES IS A BOOST OFF THE BENCH
Senior Matthew Mayes is second on the team in scoring (13.3 ppg). Mayes has posted four straight 10+ point efforts in the Bearcat four-game win streak.
    Mayes is shooting 58.3% from the floor having drained 21-of-36 shots in four games off the bench.

SCORING NOTES
Senior Aiden Gair notched his 28th career double-figure scoring game with a 19-point effort against Missouri Valley. Gair registered his fifth career 20-point scoring game with a 20-point performance against Augustana.
    Senior Matthew Mayes has scored in double figures in each of his first four games he has played this season. Mayes has 22 career double-figure games at the NCAA Div. II collegiate level.
    Freshman Robert Garcia netted his first double-figure scoring game with a 16-point effort vs. Augustana.
    Junior Trey Moala had 10 points vs. St. Cloud State for his seventh career double-figure scoring contest.

FOUR RETURNERS
The Bearcat roster features four players returning from last year's squad that went 6-22.
    Juniors Jack Ratigan and Trey Moala are the only two returnees who saw action last season.
    Larenz Walters and Presley Ibeh were on the squad last season but redshirted and did not see any action.
    
TRANSFER PORTAL
Northwest added six NCAA Div. I or Div. II transfers for this year's roster.
    Gob Gob is a Div. I transfer from UMKC. Gob played 19 games and scored 57 points for the Roos. Gob tallied a 16-point output vs. Oral Roberts (Feb. 1, 2025).
    Aiden Gair is a Div. II transfer from Millersville in Pennsylvania. Gair started 30 games and averaged 14.4 points for the Marauders. Gair buried 95 three-pointers to rank No. 17 in the nation.
    Matthew Mayes is a Div. II transfer from Henderson State. Mayes played in 28 games and made 21 starts for the Reddies. Mayes averaged 11.3 points per game. He dished out 77 assists and tallied 70 steals. Mayes ranked No. 17 in the nation in steals in 2024-25.
    Royce Williams is a Div. II transfer from Southern New Hampshire. Williams played three seasons for SNHU and saw action in 69 games with 15 starts. He averaged 9.3 points per game in 2024-25. He shot 46.6% from the floor and grabbed 83 rebounds. Williams played in the 2025 NCAA Tournament for SNHU.
    Osa Obasohan is a Div. I transfer from Hawaii. Obasohan played in 10 games for the Rainbow Warriors and scored six points. He played in a French under-21 league in 2023-24.
    Jack Webb is a Div. I transfer from Central Michigan. Webb last played for the Chippewas in the 2021-22 season. He played in 29 games and scored 13 points for the Chippewas in the Mid-American Conference.

NORTHWEST IS NATIONAL NAME
Northwest is 43-22 all-time in the NCAA Tournament with six appearances in the Elite Eight (2002, 2004, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022).
    Northwest is the first NCAA Division II school to capture three straight national titles.
