MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University volleyball team was unable to defeat the Emporia State University Hornets Saturday night in Bearcat Arena in a 3-1 setback.
The Hornets won by set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-19 and 27-25. ESU is 9-3 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play. Northwest is 7-5 overall and 1-1 in league action.
ESU snapped a 10-match losing skid against Northwest in the series between the two teams.
Senior
Abby Brunssen collected a team-high 18 kills and four blocks. The Bearcats had four players reach double-figures in digs including
Kyah Luhring (19),
Karsen VanScoy (15),
Ella Caffery (14) and
Kristen Ford (13).
Northwest hit .152 with 52 kills and 23 attack errors. Emporia State hit .221 with 63 kills and 21 errors.
