SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team edged the Augustana University Vikings, 1-0, using a late game-winning goal from senior
Emily Yakle in the 70th minute.
Both teams had difficulty breaking the deadlock in the first half, with the score remaining 0-0 at the break. Northwest created four chances but failed to put any on target. Augustana, however, managed six attempts, three on-goal.

Lily Ellis stood strong in the first half, recording three crucial saves to keep it level.
The breakthrough came in the 70th minute when Yakle stepped up and drilled a long-range free kick into the back of the net, marking the first goal of her career.
The Bearcats were outplayed in several key stats, being out shot 15-to-12, with the Vikings holding a 7-to-2 advantage in shots on goal and a 6-to-3 edge in corner kicks. However, strong defensive efforts allowed the Bearcats to keep a clean sheet, earning their second shutout of the season.
Ellis recorded her 23rd career shutout, providing seven saves. Ellis is one save away from cracking the top five in career saves at Northwest.
Northwest improves to 2-1-3 overall, as Augustana drops to 1-2-1 overall.
