MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against the No. 15-ranked Minnesota State University Mavericks.
Northwest (1-1-3) capped off a busy week by grinding out another tie with the No. 15 Mavericks (1-1-2), marking their second consecutive draw against ranked competition.
The first half was a physical, defensive battle with both teams combining for eight shots – three from Northwest. Each team had two shots on goal, with
Lily Ellis making two crucial saves to keep the score level at halftime.
Ekaterina Theoharidis accounted for both shots on target in the opening half.
The second half saw the Bearcats assert themselves offensively, outshooting the Mavericks 19-to-16, and leading 8-to-7 in shots on target. Both teams drew even at four corner kicks.
Ellis made seven saves to bring her career total to 188. Theoharidis led the attack with three shots on goal, the most of any player on the pitch.

Despite both teams' efforts, neither could find a breakthrough, and the match ended in a scoreless draw.
