MARYVILLE, Mo. - The No. 19-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team put up a 6-1 dual victory over the visiting Northeastern State RiverHawks on the Grube Courts at the Rosewell Complex on Friday afternoon.
Northwest improved 18-1 overall and 4-0 in MIAA dual action. Northeastern State dropped to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in league duals.
The Bearcats took a 1-0 lead after doubles by scoring wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The RiverHawks captured the No. 3 doubles match.
Northwest tallied five singles victories to ensure the dual triumph. No. 1 
Carolina Oliveira recorded a three-set win over NSU's Alisha Moldakhmetova, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1. 
Tessa Kwakernaak gained a three-set win over NSU's Leah Gonzales Edwards, 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.
Marielena Muench, 
Laura Prieto Sieiro and 
Angela per Moreno all gained straight-sets wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.
Northwest will be in action again Saturday against Central Oklahoma.
