WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Northwest Missouri State University softball team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers Friday afternoon at the Mustang Round Up.

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single to shortstop.

Northwest leveled the score at 1-1 on
Sophie Mayhugh's RBI single to left that plated
Omara Love.

The Rangers put together a pair of run-scoring singles in the third to take a 4-1 advantage.

The Rangers added three more tallies in the fourth with two bases loaded walks and a hit batter to push their lead to 7-1.

Avery Mayberry doubled to right to score
Skylar Pieper with two outs in the sixth to draw the Bearcats to within 7-2.
Bearcat starter Jaydn Streigle took the loss and fell to 1-2 on the season. Streigle pitched 3 2/3 and was tagged for seven runs on seven hits. She walked six and struck out four.
Reliever
Cassidy Paulson pitched 3 1/3 clean innings. She allowed four hits and no runs. Paulson struck out five and walked one.
