HAYS, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State women's soccer team secured its fourth road victory of the season with a 2-1 comeback win under the lights against the Fort Hays State Tigers.

Adell Gore scored her first goal of the season in the 17th minute, followed by the decider by
Ximena Arnau in the 50th minute.Â

Northwest improves to 6-2-5 overall and 4-1-2 in the MIAA, as Fort Hays State drops to 6-4-3 and 3-3-1 in conference play.Â

The Tigers struck quickly, with Taylor Hill scoring in the third minute. Northwest then responded in the 17th minute when
Makenna West used her quick footwork to set up Gore, who fired a shot into the back-right corner of the net to tie the match at one. Gore's equalizer marked her first goal of the season and the 13th of her career.

At the end of the first half, the 1-1 scoreline held. Northwest outshot Fort Hays State 6-to-5, as both teams recorded two shots on goal. The Bearcats also had a narrow 2-to-1 advantage in corner kicks, with each goalkeeper giving up one goal and making one save.

In the 50th minute,
Ekaterina Theoharidis made a strong run down the left side, earning a corner kick for Northwest. Her cross deflected off a defender but found Arnau, who capitalized to give the Bearcats a 2-1 lead.

As the final ticks of the match neared, the Tigers tried to come out with a conference tie. Tigers' Hill had a look in the 87th minute after a free kick but sailed above the net to seal the 2-1 road victory for the Bearcats.Â

Northwest was out-shot in the second half, falling in both the shots (14-to-11) and shots on target (6-to-5). The Tigers had six opportunities for the corner compared to the Bearcats' three. Goalkeeper
