MARYVILLE, Mo. – Ekaterina Theoharidis nets two goals, as the Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team wraps up its weekend with a 2-0 home victory over the Rogers State University Hillcats on Sunday afternoon.
Theoharidis netted her sixth and seventh goals of the season, tying her for No. 8 on Northwest's all-time single-season goals list.
With the win, Northwest's record improves to 5-2-5 overall and 3-1-2 in the MIAA, while Rogers State falls to 1-8-2 overall and 0-3-2 in conference play.
In the first 14 minutes, Northwest managed just one-shot attempt before
Moira Franck set up Theoharidis for the opening goal, marking the Bearcats' eighth first-half goal of the season.
Northwest led 7-to-6 in total shots, but Rogers State had a 5-to-4 edge in shots on target. The Hillcats earned both of the first-half corner kicks, though the Bearcats held a 1-0 lead at the break. Goalkeeper

Northwest's offense surged in the second half, with Theoharidis scoring her second goal in the 66th minute, assisted by
Lucia Fernandez and
Margaret Madden. The Bearcats fired off a season-high 26 shots in the half, with 11 on target, also a season high. The teams finished even in corner kicks at three apiece.
Ellis made nine total saves in the match, raising her season total to 83 and career total to 241. She also earned her 26th career shutout and fifth of the season.
