Game Recap: Soccer |

Soccer bests No. 15 Augustana in home opener, 2-1

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team grabbed a 2-1 win over No. 15 Augustana Friday at the Bearcat Soccer Pitch.

Northwest's Ximena Arnau scored the first goal of the night on a penalty kick at the 50:53 mark.  

Soon after, Augustana struck back on a goal from Paige Bracker at the 51:15 mark. 

Junior forward Adell Gore then knocked in a header for a goal at the 58:42 mark for the game-winning goal.

Northwest peppered the net all match and tallied 19 shots. Augustana was limited to four total shots. Northwest's goalkeeper Leyah Scott made one save to earn her first collegiate victory.

The Vikings are 2-0-1, while the Bearcats are 1-1-1.
 
Northwest Missouri State will host Sioux Falls on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
