MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with the Missouri Western Griffons at the Bearcat Pitch.

Missouri Western tallied the first goal of the match when Kendall Knisley scored on an assist from Lauren Nylund at the 38:13 mark of the first half.

Northwest scored the equalizing goal when Kaylie Rock fired one into the back of the net at the 64:19 mark of the match.

Northwest out-shot Missouri Western, 21-7. The Bearcats had eight shots-on-goal, while the Griffons had six shots-on-goal.

Bearcat goalkeeper Leyah Scott tallied five saves on the day.

Northwest will travel to Warrensburg, Mo., Sunday for a regional matchup with Central Missouri. First kick is slated for 1 p.m.
