The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team battled the heat today in a match that resulted in a 2-2 tie against the Missouri-St. Louis Tritons Friday in St. Louis.
Senior forward
Kaylie Rock knocked in the first goal of the evening on an assist from
Ximena Arnau and
Makenna West in the 21st minute.
UMSL answered quickly with a goal in the 23rd minute to draw even at 1-1.
Ximena Arnau scored on a penalty goal kick in the 61st minute to give Northwest a 2-1 advantage.
The Tritons leveled the match at 2-2 in the 81st minute.
Both squads were credited with 10 shots in the matchup. Northwest had seven shots on-goal, while
UMSL had six shots on-goal.
Northwest Missouri State is back in action with a match against Drury on Sunday at 3 p.m.. This match will take place in St. Louis (Lou
Fusz Complex).
The Bearcats have met the Panthers twice in previous matches with a record of 0-0-2. No stream or live stats will be available on Sunday.
