RiverHawks take both games of the doubleheader against the 'Cats

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northwest Missouri State softball team dropped both games of its doubleheader against the Northeastern State RiverHawks Friday evening.
 
The Bearcats drop to 20-18 overall and 5-9 in MIAA play.
 
The RiverHawks improved to 22-15 overall and 4-8 in league action.
 
GAME ONE
The RiverHawks took game one by a score of 6-0.
 
Northeastern State scored its first run of the game on an error in the first inning.
 
NSU tallied another run in the third inning, and then added one more in the fifth with a solo home run.
 
In the sixth inning, the RiverHawks posted their final three runs as they took game one, 6-0.
 
Jadyn Streigle was tagged with the loss going five innings and allowing three runs on ten hits. She struck out three batters.
 
Omara Love had two hits for the Bearcats and Madison Friest had one.
 
GAME TWO
Northeastern State came away with its second victory of the day with a 3-1 finish in game two.
 
Northwest was the first to score in game two as Lauren Gray hit an RBI single that scored Lillie Filger.
 
The RiverHawks responded in the second inning with a three-run homer over the center field fence to take a 3-1 lead over Northwest.
 
Lillie Filger led the 'Cats with two hits in the contest. Abby Nolte, Lauren Gray, and Madison Friest all tallied one hit.
 
Breck Dickey pitched all six innings for Northwest allowing three runs on three hits. Dickey struck out four RiverHawks.
