WICHITA, Kan. - The Newman University Jets posted a 13-3, seven-inning win over the Northwest Missouri State University baseball team on Sunday in the finale of a three-game series at McCarthy Field.
Northwest falls to 7-24 overall and 5-15 in MIAA play. Newman improves to 15-19 overall and 9-11 in league action.
The Bearcats turned to senior starter 
Max Spitzmiller on three days rest as the visitors looked to take the series. However, the Jets roughed up Spitzmiller for eight runs on 11 hits as he exited the game in the fourth. 
Newman out-hit Northwest, 14-8. 
Layne Shiers was the lone Bearcat to record a two-hit game on Sunday.

Ryan Koski were credited with RBI in the series finale.
Northwest returns home to take on the Missouri Western Griffons in a three-game set that will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Bearcat Field in Maryville, Mo.
