KEARNEY, Neb. - The No. 28-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team served up a 6-1 win over the No. 22-ranked Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on Thursday afternoon.
For the eighth time this season, the Bearcat women secured the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. The Bearcats got doubles wins from their No. 2 pairing of
Vera Alenicheva and
Tessa Kwakernaak and No. 3 pairing of
Tyffaine Pais and Angela Per Moreno.
The Bearcats picked up the pace in singles play and knocked off five Lopers in succession from No. 2 singles to No. 6 singles.
The Bearcats (8-3 overall) improved to 2-0 in MIAA duals with the victory. UNK fell to 8-6 overall and 0-1 in MIAA play.
