OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The No. 28-ranked Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team continued its hot play of late with a 4-3 victory over Rockhurst University in a dual held at the Overland Park Racquet Club.
Northwest overcame a 1-0 deficit after the Hawks tallied wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
The Bearcats rolled to straight-sets triumphs in singles from No. 1
Vera Alenicheva, No. 4 Angela Per Moreno, No. 5 Carolina DeOliveira and No. 6
Sofia Pignataro.Â
Per Moreno registered her eighth straight singles win and is a perfect 4-0 at No. 4 singles this spring. DeOliveira delivered her sixth consecutive singles win to move to 7-4 on the year.Â
The Bearcats have scored three straight dual wins. It also marks six wins in seven matches for the Northwest women. Northwest is 9-3 in dual play this spring.
