The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team opened its MIAA dual action with a 7-0 win over Fort Hays State in a match that was moved to the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center in Kearney, Neb.
The Bearcats did not drop a set in winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches. No. 1-seeded
Vera Alenicheva posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over FHSU's No. 1 Stefany Stemmer and No. 6-seeded
Sarah Muehlberger also notched a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over FHSU's Grace Unruh.
Northwest improved its overall season record to 7-3. FHSU fell to 5-4 overall.
