ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The No. 14-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team picked up a 4-2 victory Friday over the No. 40-ranked Southern Arkansas Muleriders at the Genesis Indoor Courts.
The Bearcats improved to 8-5 overall and stayed perfect in MIAA/GAC duals at 3-0. The Muleriders dropped to 6-11 overall and 0-2 in MIAA/GAC dual action.
Northwest gained a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point. Northwest's No. 2 doubles team of 
Jan Skerbatis and 
Fabien Calloud posted a 6-1 win. The Bearcat No. 3 doubles pairing of 
Michael Delebois and 
Mason Meier recorded a 6-1 victory as well.
The Bearcats notched three singles wins to clinch the dual victory. 
In a matchup of nationally-ranked foes, No. 16 
Andrea Zamurri scored a 6-4, 7-5 win over No. 23-ranked Sander Jans. No. 55-ranked 
Fabien Calloud secured a 6-1, 6-1 win over SAU's Tim Fischer at No. 3 singles. 
Simon Birgerson registered a 6-1, 6-3 victory over SAU's Adrian Gheorge at No. 6 singles.
Northwest will take on the Newman Jets Saturday at 1 p.m. on the Grube Courts at the Rosewell Tennis Complex on the Bearcat campus.
