TOPEKA, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team dropped a back-and-forth affair via a walk off sac-fly vs. the Washburn Ichabods, 9-8 in mid-week MIAA action.

Northwest was scheduled to be the home team, but the game was moved to Topeka due to poor field conditions at Bearcat Baseball Field. Northwest will now be the home team for the game scheduled for March 28th.

Northwest falls to 4-17, 2-8 in MIAA play and Washburn moves to 16-8, 9-1 in MIAA play.

Washburn tossed up a four spot in the bottom of the first.

Northwest answered back in the top of the second with solo home runs from
Trey Morris and
Ryan Williams to cut the Washburn lead to 4-2.

Northwest would get back even in the top of the third thanks to a two-run shot from
Ryan Koski, his fifth bomb of the season.

Washburn would regain the lead in the bottom half of the third on a solo homerun.

Northwest grabbed the lead back in the top of the fourth on a ground out and a wild pitch.

Washburn regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth and then extended their lead in seventh on an RBI double to make it 8-6.

Northwest would bring it within one in the eighth on an RBI single from
Cole Slibowski.

Alex Bowers came up with a game tying RBI single in the top of the ninth tying the game at eight.

Washburn would walk it off in the ninth on a sacrifice fly to center field off
Jacob Gajic. Gajic was tagged with the loss.
