SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The No. 5-ranked Wayne State University (Mich.) secured a narrow 4-3 triumph over the No. 16-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men's tennis team at the Cooper Indoor Courts Saturday evening.
Wayne State moved to 6-4 on the year, while Northwest fell to 3-3 overall.
Wayne gained the upper hand with a strong outing in doubles play. The No. 8-ranked pair of Cedrick Drenth and Daniel Grey posted a 6-0 win over No. 10-ranked
Mason Meier and
Jan Skerbatis at No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 doubles team of Luke Laws and Dom Spicer pulled off a 6-3 win over Northwest's
Michael Delebois and
Fabien Calloud at No. 2 doubles to secure the doubles point.
Northwest bounced back in singles play by splitting the action but could not overcome the doubles point gained by WSU.

Andrea Zamurri scored a straight-sets, 6-4, 6-4 win over Drenth. No. 30-ranked Delebois gained a three-set win over No. 10-ranked Dom Spicer at No. 3 singles, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Mason Meier put up a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) triumph at No. 6 singles over WSU's Denali Kitayama.
