JOPLIN, Mo, - The Northwest Missouri State baseball team snapped a six-game skid in dominant fashion with a 12-2 ten run rule win over Minnesota State in seven innings.

Northwest goes to 2-8 and Minnesota State falls to 1-1.

The bats were hot for the Bearcats tallying 15 hits in only seven innings. Five Bearcat hitters tallied multiple hits with all nine hitters recording at least one hit.

Minnesota State jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after one inning, but Bearcat starter
Zach Wiese settled in, Wiese went 5.0 innings giving up two earned runs on three hits striking six Maverick hitters. Wiese got the win bringing his record to 1-1 on the season.

Northwest bounced back with two-runs of their own in the bottom half of the first,
DJ Heck drove in
Cole Slibowski for the first run of the inning.
Trey Morris then drove in a run on a RBI groundout to bring the score to 2-2.

The Bearcats kept their foot on the gas in the second,
Evan Tocmo drove in the third run of the game with a sac-fly scoring
Caden Diel.
Ryan Koski then broke the Bearcat hitless streak with the bases loaded with an RBI single to left scoring
Max Pawela to put the 'Cats ahead 4-2 after two innings.

Caden Diel added a solo home run in the bottom of the third to extend the Bearcat lead to 5-2.

Northwest added two more in the fourth when
Ryan Williams lifted a one-out, two-run double with the bases loaded scoring Heck and Tocmo.

Trey Morris tallied three more RBIs, one in the fifth and two more in the seventh both on singles up the middle. Morris had a team high four RBIs on the afternoon.

Noah Bodenhausen ended the game in the seventh with a two-out, two-run walk-off single bringing the score to 12-2.

Northwest is back in action tomorrow afternoon vs. McKendree at 1 p.m.
