ALVA, Okla. - The Northwest Missouri State baseball team took a 10-2 loss in the final game of a four game series at Northwestern Oklahoma State.Â
The Bearcats fell to 1-7 on the year while the Rowdy Rangers went to 5-3. The Bearcats have lost five in a row after being swept this weekend in a four game series.
The Rowdy Rangers raced out to a 5-0 lead after four innings following a couple RBI extra base-hits including a two-run home run off Bearcat Starter
Alex Slocum in the bottom of the fourth. Slocum was credited with the loss, striking out six in 3.2 innings of work.
The Bearcats got within three in the top of the sixth inning after a pair of RBI singles from
Noah Bodenhausen and
Trey Morris. Morris and Bodenhausen each tallied two-hits a piece. The Bearcats had a season high 10 strikeouts on the afternoon.
The Rowdy Rangers went on to tack on five more runs to make the final score 10-2.
Northwest returns to action on Friday with a neutral site contest with Illinois Springfield in Joplin, Mo.
