OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's tennis team captured its first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over the UT Tyler Patriots.

Northwest swept the doubles action to begin the day to take a 1-0 lead. The No. 1 doubles pairing of Sofia Pignataro and Carolina Caetano Reis posted a 6-3 victory. The No. 2 duo of Tessa Kwakernakk and Vera Alenicheva notched a 6-2 triumph. The No. 3 squad of Tyffaine Pais and Angela per Moreno secured a 6-3 win.

Northwest added four wins in singles to clinch the dual triumph. Northwest's singles wins came via Vera Alenicheva, Tyffaine Pais, Tessa Kwakernaak and Sarah Muehlberger.
