ALVA, Okla. - The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team came up on the short end of a 10-5 setback in its third game of a four-game set at Northwestern Oklahoma State.

The Bearcats fell to 1-6 overall, while Northwestern Oklahoma State moved to 4-3 with its fourth straight win overall.

NWOSU bounced out to a 5-0 lead through five innings. Northwest put up a run in the sixth, but gave up three runs in the bottom half of the sixth as NWOSU took an 8-1 advantage.

Northwest scored a single run in the seventh and three runs in the eighth but could not overcome the early five-run deficit to fall, 10-5.

The Bearcats tallied seven hits, but gave up 14 to NWOSU.

Jace Davidson took the loss as he did not make it out of the first inning. Davidson pitched a third of an inning and gave up two walks and a hit. He was charged with two runs. All five Bearcat pitchers in the game gave up a run.
