JOPLIN, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State University women's soccer team came away with a 0-0 draw against the Missouri Southern Lions.
The Bearcats (7-4-6, 4-2-4 MIAA) held the Lions (0-14-3, 0-8-2 MIAA) scoreless to post Northwest's fifth consecutive shutout. Northwest has not allowed a goal in 531 minutes of action.
Northwest had chances to get on the board, but a strong effort by MSSU goalkeeper Bella Smith provided six saves against the Bearcats.
The Bearcats had 11 total shots with six on-goal compared to the Lions four shots, two on-goal. Adell Gore led the Northwest offense with a team-best three shots (two on-goal).
Lily Ellis gained her 20
th career shutout as she kept a clean sheet with two saves.
Northwest will wrap up the regular season Sunday at 1 p.m. at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo.
