The Northwest Missouri State soccer team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 4-0 win at Sioux Falls.
The Bearcats scored their first goal of the match at the 18:40 mark as
Kaylie Rock punched it in off a
Teagan Blackburn assist. Rock recorded her second goal at the 35:12 mark, this time the assist coming from
Margaret Madden.
In the first half, Northwest had 11 shots and allowed Sioux Falls only 1. At the half, Northwest had a 2-0 lead.
Sydney Mueller got the Bearcats on the board in the second half at the 58:30 mark with a goal in the top left corner. In the 85
th minute,
Kaitlyn Case put Northwest up 4-0 after scoring on a penalty kick.
The Bearcats outshot the Cougars 19-1, not allowing Sioux Falls a single shot in the second half. Northwest also drew 4 corner kicks and held Sioux Falls to 0.
Lily Ellis got her third start of her career as well as her third shutout.
Northwest begins its conference schedule Friday, September 9 at Missouri Western. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
